Fashion Institute of Technology

Fashion Institute of Technology, public, coeducational institution in New

York City, and part of the State University of New York System. The

school was founded in 1944. The Fashion Institute of Technology

confers associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in a variety of

art-related fields. Courses of study include the fine arts, applied arts, communications, fashion design and

technology, industrial design, interior design, jewelry and metalsmithing, management engineering,

photography, retail management, industrial administration, and textile arts.
